Sept. 10, 2006

Box Score

HARRISONBURG, VA - The Saint Joseph's field hockey team was shut out by 13th-ranked James Madison, 3-0, Sunday in a non-conference matchup at the JMU Field Hockey Complex.

The Hawks' defense was able to hold the Dukes to one goal in the first half, but JMU's offense proved to be too much, as they went on to score two more goals in the second. Saint Joseph's offense seemed unable to get the momentum going their way being out-shot 14-2 on the day and being edged 5-1 in corners.

Seniors Maureen Casserly and Charlsie Agro registered the shots for the Hawks. Junior goalkeeper Rebecca Cunfer had another strong day in goal making 5 saves and earning all 70:00 minutes of play.

SJU returns to action Wednesday September 13th with another away game, as they take on cross-town rival Drexel at 4:00pm.
