The first game, tied since the fourth inning, was finally broken in the tenth inning. St. Bonaventure took the first game, 3-2 in ten innings behind the strength of Brianna Bricker's solo home run in the top of the tenth.

The Hawks were down 2-0 in the game after the Bonnies tallied runs in the second and third innings. Kara Morenus hit a home run over the centerfield fence for the first run. Ashley Kotz made it 2-0 when Bricker's stolen base forced a throw into centerfield, letting Kotz trot home in the third inning.

Saint Joseph's tied the game in the fourth when Laura Cardone knocked home Erika Rosenwinkel and Lauren Falk, who pitch ran for Dani Gonzales.

Lauren Cognigni went the distance for the Hawks, earning two runs in ten innings while striking out seven Bonnies.

Gonzales followed Cognigni's performance with a complete game shutout, scattering five hits and striking out four. She was backed by early and timely hitting for the Hawks.

In the bottom of the first, Saint Joseph's got on the board when Dana Bieniek scored after a Kelsey Moir sacrifice bunt moved her to second and a Bonnie error allowed Bieniek to score.

SJU was held scoreless for the next two innings until Holly Fagan scored on a similar play to Bienieck's, capitalizing on St. Bonaventure errors to make it 2-0.

Saint Joseph's took advantage of an error by Bricker and another by Trish McKeon in the sixth to pad the Hawk lead, 4-0, when their mishaps saw Sarah Falk and Cardone score.
