PHILADELPHIA -
Sophomore D.J. Rivera has requested and been granted
his release from the Saint Joseph's men's basketball program to
transfer to another institution.
"It has always been the trademark of our program to do what's best
for each individual, and we granted his request," said coach Phil
Martelli.
Rivera, a 6-1 guard from Philadelphia (Neumann-Goretti H.S.), saw
action in 13 games this season after sitting out the first semester
to concentrate on academics. He averaged 4.4 points per game this
season, and 5.9 in his freshman year.
