Women's Track Opens Season at Jack Pyrah Invitational

Haverford, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team opened it's winter season Saturday evening at the Jack Pyrah Invitational hosted by Villanova at Haverford's Alumni Field House. Senior Nicole McMullen led the Hawks in two events and broke the indoor school record in the 300m dash.

McMullen placed sixth in the 300m with a time of 41.37 to break her previous record of 41.47 seconds she set her freshman year. In the 55m dash McMullen took fifth in 7.45 while sophomore Ashley Williams trailed in seventh with a time of 7.47 and sophomore Stefani Zabilowicz placed 13th in 7.62.

Zabilowicz was also the top finisher for the Hawks in the 55m hurdles in fourth place (8.57) while Kristen Pierce finished sixth (8.77) and Jessica Chen took eighth (8.82).

Senior Kierstin Quinn led the way in the 500m dash finishing 12th in 1:22.84 while Lauren Wenzel (1:27.15) and Danielle Osbourne (1:27.77) finished 15th and 18th respectively.

Senior Erin Vanderhoof took first place in the long jump with a mark of 17'2 ¾" while Nohjay Nimpson placed sixth with a 16'3 ¼" mark. Nimpson also had a team-best triple jump with a mark of 36'7".

In the high jump freshman Hannah Boyce was the top Hawk, finishing third with a jump of 4'11" while Genevieve Reardon was sixth with a 4'9" jump.

The Hawks compete next at Princeton on Friday, December 11 at 6:00 p.m.
