Men's Soccer Falls to Stetson, 4-0

DeLand, Fla. - Saint Joseph's men's soccer team fell to Stetson, 4-0, in the Stetson Soccer Tournament on Friday evening. Freshman Andrew D'Ottavi made seven saves between the pipes.

Stetson added points on the board first with a goal in the 20th minute of play when Jonathan Mendoza blasted a shot into the net from 20 yards out. The remainder of the first half went scoreless, ending the half at 1-0.

Stetson added two consecutive goals early in the second half when Fredrik Brustad scored at 56:52 and Set Carpintero at 58:10. In the 77th minute Stetson would send a ball into the goal over the Hawks defensive wall on a free kick to make it a 4-0 game.

D'Ottavi has 45 saves on the season and a .726 save percentage.

The Hawks play Jacksonville on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in their second game of the Stetson Soccer Tournament.
