New York, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team competed in the Lafayette-Rider Invitational at the Armory on Friday evening. Kristin Andrews paced the Hawks with a second place finish in the 400 meter dash.
Andrews' second place finish in the 400m was a personal and team best time (58.43) while Caitlin McGrath placed 12th in 1:00.78.
Also in sprints, Ashley Williams took sixth in the 60 meter dash in 7.98 seconds and placed ninth in the 200 meter dash with a personal best time of 26.27 seconds while Shannon Geddes and Kierstin Quinn had personal-bests in the 500m finishing fourth (1:18.79)and eighth (1:19.67), respectively.
In the 800 meter run Anna Casey took fourth in 2:18.72 while Elizabeth Welsh (2:27.44) and Katie Piaazza (2:41.88) earned personal best times.
In the distance events Sara Walker finished third (2:56.93) and Kelsey Rose took sixth (3:02.39) in the 1000m while Maureen O'Donnell placed fifth (5:15.77) in the mile and Samantha Peters finished eighth (10:44.86) in the 3,000 meter run.
Kristen Pierce took third in hurdles with a personal-best 9.11 seconds while Stefani Zabilowicz took sixth in 9.29 seconds.
In the long jump Erin Vanderhoof and Beth Getty earned personal-bests finishing seventh (5.48m) and ninth (5.05m), respectively.
The Hawks compete in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Kingston, R.I. on Friday and Saturday.
