Nicole McMullen Paces Women's Track at Yale's Giegengack Invite

New Haven, Conn. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team competed in the Giegengack Invitational at Yale on Friday and Saturday. Senior Nicole McMullen took first in the long jump, while Nohjay Nimpson and Aimee Chegwidden took second in the triple jump and 5,000m, respectively.

McMullen had a personal-best 18'6 ½" leap in the long jump, while qualifying for finals in the 60 meter dash, finishing seventh in 7.95.

Nohjay Nimpson took second in the triple jump with a mark of 38'7" and had a season-best 16'7 ¾" long jump.

Chegwidden placed second with an 18:03.19 performance in the 5,000 meter run.

Jessica DiCicco and Maureen O'Donnell had big personal-bests in the 3,000 meter in 8th (10:09.68) and 17th (10:24.26), respectively.

In the 60 meter hurdles four Hawks qualified for finals with Stefani Zabilowicz leading the way in fourth (9.26) while Kristin Pierce took fifth (9.32). Jessica Chen and Francesca D'Angelo took sixth (9.36) and seventh (9.52), respectively.

Zabilowicz was also paced the Hawks as 1-of-3 SJU runners who won their heat in the 200 meter, finishing 19th in 26.58, while Ashley Williams (26.59) and Karly Cahill (27.52) also won their heats.

In relays SJU had a personal best in the distance medley in 12:15.28 for a sixth place finish, while taking fifth in the 4x400 in 3:58.62.

The Hawks compete next on Friday and Saturday at Lafayette/Rider before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championships February 19-20.
