Women's Track Finishes 18th of 29 Teams at Colonial Relays

Williamsburg, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team finished 18th of 29 teams competing in the Colonial Relays on Friday and Saturday. The Hawks also competed in the Penn Invite at Franklin Field on Friday.

At the Colonial Relays Nicole McMullen took second in the long jump with a mark of 18'8 3/4" while Nohjay Nimpson also earned points for the Hawks finishing eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 118'4".

Maureen O'Donnell broke her own record she set last week in the steeplechase for an eighth place finish in 11:14.18.

The Hawks rounded out scoring in relays, earning points in three events. Francesca D'Angelo, Jessica Chen, Stefani Zabilowicz, and Kristen Pierce broke the school record and placed third in the shuttle hurdle relays with a time of 1:01.74 to win their heat.

Sara Walker, Shannon Geddes, Anna Casey, and Kathleen Casey took sixth in the distance medley in 12:11.47 while Ashley Williams, Emily Coldren, Kierstin Quinn, and Nicole McMullen placed ninth to win their heat in the 4x100 with a time of 48.56 seconds.

At the Penn Invite Samantha Peters had the best finish for the Hawks with a fifth-place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 11:59.98 while Cara Quinn won her heat in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.50 seconds.

The Hawks compete again on Saturday when they travel to George Mason.
