Langston Galloway Chosen to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team

March 7, 2011

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's freshman Langston Galloway has been named to the 2011 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, in a vote of the league's 14 coaches. He becomes the 14th Hawk to earn All-Rookie honors and the first since 2006-07.

Galloway earned the league's Rookie of the Week honors five times, which tied Duquesne's T.J. McConnell for the league's high this season while earning the weekly award four times in the last five weeks.

Langston Galloway was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team on Monday. The video will load after a brief advertisement.

The 6-2 guard from Baton Route, La., ranks second on the Hawks in scoring with his 12.8 average. He also leads Saint Joseph's in rebounding (5.4), free throw percentage (88.2), steals (1.7) and assist/turnover ratio (2.4) and is the conference's leader in free throw percentage in overall games.

Galloway scored double figures in 18 games this season and had eight games of 20-plus points. He notched a career-high 27 points twice in the last three games, which were both SJU victories.

Saint Joseph's (9-21; 4-12), which has won four of its last eight games, opens play in the Atlantic 10 Tournament on Tuesday at George Washington.
