Men's Basketball Freshman Kyle Molock Sidelined with Knee Injury

July 26, 2012

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's incoming freshman basketball player Kyle Molock suffered a torn ACL in his right knee during individual workouts on campus last week. He will undergo surgery on August 10 and is expected to be out for the season.

Molock, a 6-2 guard, re-tore the ACL that he had injured in January 2012 and had recovered from. This most recent injury was non-contact and occurred as he was doing a layup in a one-versus-zero drill.

"Everyone involved in our program is supporting Kyle and his family at this difficult time. He has, in a short time on campus, made a positive impression academically, athletically and social. This injury, while a challenge, will not stop Kyle from becoming a great Hawk," said head coach Phil Martelli.

Molock, from Dublin, Ohio and Dublin Coffman High School, has battled knee injuries during his scholastic career. After his sophomore year, he suffered a more severe injury to the major ligaments in his left knee, which caused him to miss his junior season.
