DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team picked up its fourth straight win as the Hawks topped Davidson, 3-0, Sunday afternoon.
Taking control early, Saint Joseph's scored twice in the first half to open a 2-0 advantage. Shannon Mulvey put the Hawks ahead 1-0 at 15:31 as she headed in a pass from Emily Gingrich inside the Davidson box.
Morgan Michon made it 2-0 in favor for SJU 34:52 as she snuck a shot inside the near post off a pass from Hannah Racis.
Ahead by two, the Hawks would add an insurance goal at 47:56 as Dakota Mills took advantage of a Davidson misplay and touched a loose ball into an empty net.
The three goal advantage was more than enough for goalkeeper Allison Ebling and the SJU defense as none of the Wildcats' nine shots found the back of the net. With the win, Ebling moves into a tie for second all-time in wins with 21 and is just one shy of the career record of 22.
Sunday's win pushed SJU's record to 11-6-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the Atlantic 10. The 11 wins matches the single season mark for victories, set last year.
Saint Joseph's returns to action this Thursday when it caps the home portion of its schedule versus Massachusetts at 7 p.m.
