NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Saint Joseph's junior forward Anna Willocks was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Willocks totaled seven points after scoring two goals and adding three assists over the weekend. On Friday, she assisted on the game-winning goal as the 21st-ranked Hawks topped UC Davis, 2-1.
The following day, the Palmerston North, New Zealand, native scored two goals of her own and assisted on two more as the Hawks rolled past Saint Francis (Pa.), 8-0. She tallied a goal and an assist in each half as the Hawks matched the program record for most goals scored in a game and the largest margin of victory in program history.
Shortly after the start of the second half, Willocks notched her second goal of the day and the 50th of her career, making her the third Hawk to ever reach the 50-goal plateau. Just 76 seconds later, she handed out the 26th assist of her career, tying the school record held by Dani Bleam (1992-95) and Nicole Antonini (2003-06).
Willocks and the Hawks return to action on Friday at La Salle before hosting defending national champion Delaware on Saturday.
