* A collection will be taken during the game for the Hawks' Christmas Charity Project, which is now in its 23rd year. All donations will be used by the team to purchase Christmas gifts for a few needy families in the area.

ABOUT THE HAWKS
• Saint Joseph's snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating Sacramento State, 74-69, in the seventh-place game at the Wooden Legacy
Shavar Newkirk led the Hawks in scoring in the tournament, averaging 18.3 points in the three games
• Freshman Taylor Funk tops the Atlantic 10 in three-point field goals made per game with 3.5 per game, and ranks 22nd in the nation
• This marks just the second home game of the year for SJU but it starts a stretch of four consecutive games in Philadelphia

INJURY REPORT
Charlie Brown, Jr., remains sidelined with a fracture in his left wrist, on which he had surgery on Oct. 24 and will miss this week's games
Lamarr Kimble will miss the remainder of the season after re-injuring the fifth metatarsal of his left foot at Toledo. It was the same injury that occured on Feb. 11, 2017 which required surgery and caused him to miss the final seven games of the season

LAST TIME OUT
Shavar Newkirk scored 22 points and Taylor Funk scored all of his 15 points in the second half as Saint Joseph's rallied to a 74-69 win over Sacramento State in the seventh-place game of the Wooden Legacy
• Funk had five points in a key two-minute stretch as the Hawks broke a 66-66 tie with 1:45 to play and held a 72-67 lead with 40.6 seconds remaining
• Newkirk hit three free throws in the final 41 seconds to ice the win

WOODEN WRAPUP
• The Hawks came out of the Wooden Legacy with a 1-2 record and seventh place in the tourney
• SJU lost to eventual tourney champion Washington State, as well as Harvard, while defeating Sacramento State
Shavar Newkirk led the Hawks in scoring in the three games, with an 18.3 average
Taylor Funk averaged 11.3 ppg, but his three-point shooting cooled off slightly from his first three games (59.1), as he made 42.1 percent in the tournament

Pierfrancesco Oliva recorded career-highs of 10 rebounds and six assists in the game

• After playing five of the first six games this season away from home, the Hawks begin a stretch of four consecutive games in Philadelphia with tonight's contest
• The Hawks will host Big 5 rival Villanova on Saturday in a soldout, nationally-televised contest (ESPN2)
• SJU will go crosstown to visit Temple on Dec. 9 before returning home to host Maine on Dec. 17
