Glavin, O'Reilly Announce 2018-19 Track and Field Schedules

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's men's head coach and administrator of cross country and track and field Mike Glavin and women's cross country head coach Melody O'Reilly have announced the identical 2018-19 indoor and outdoor schedules for both the men's and women's track and field squads. The Hawks will race nine regular-season indoor meets before entering into championship season on February 23 and eight regular-season outdoor meets before entering into championship season on May 3.

The Hawks will open the 2018-19 campaign with their only 2018 race of the season, at the Fastrack Season Opener at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. on Saturday, December 1 for a taste of competition before winter break.

SJU will return to action in the new year and will compete in four meets over the month of January, including the Wagner Invitational (Jan. 4), Lehigh Angry Birds Invitational (Jan. 12) and Penn Quad Meet (Jan. 19) before getting into the two-day Penn State National Invitational (Jan. 25-26).

Saint Joseph's will then race a pair of meets on February 2, competing at both the Ursinus Frank Colden Invitational and Villanova Wildcat Invitational before heading into the Fastrack National Invitational (Feb. 8) and Fastrack Last Chance Invitational (Feb. 15) the following two Fridays.

Five of those nine meets - the Wagner Invitational, Penn Quad Meet, Villanova Wildcat Invitational, Fastrack National Invitational, and Fastrack Last Chance Invitational - will be held at the Ocean Breeze Facility in Staten Island, N.Y.

Championship season will follow, beginning with the 2019 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships, to be held at George Mason University's Field House in Fairfax, Va. from February 23-24.

Qualifiers will then head to the 2019 IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center from March 1-3.

The 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships will run from March 8-9 at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

Saint Joseph's will open the outdoor season on Saturday, March 30 at the Rider 5-Way Meet in Lawrenceville, N.J. before heading down to Williamsburg, Va. for the three-day 54th Annual Colonial Relays, set for April 4-6.

The Hawks will then split up over the course of the next six meets, racing both the Bucknell Bison Classic (Apr. 13-14) and Rider Invitational (Apr. 13) and both the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational (Apr. 19-20) and Widener Invitational (Apr. 19-20) before heading to both the Penn Relays (Apr. 25-27) and Carol and John Covert Classic (Apr. 27, formerly named the Lehigh Games) to close the regular season.

The 2019 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships will be held at the UMass Track and Field Complex in Amherst, Mass. From May 3-5.

Qualifiers will then compete at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium from May 11-12.

The NCAA East Preliminary Rounds will return to the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. Advancers will head to the NCAA Outdoor Championships will run from June 4-8 at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
