THE HAWKS
Jared Bynum scored a career-high 23 points but Temple rallied to defeat Saint Joseph's, 77-70, in a Big 5 game at soldout Hagan Arena. Charlie Brown, Jr., tallied 18 points for Saint Joseph's, Lamarr Kimble added 12 points and Taylor Funk tied his career-high with 13 rebounds
• Saint Joseph's ranks second in the nation in turnovers per game, with an average of 7.9. Virginia is the leader with 7.1 turnovers per game
• The Hawks lead the A-10 in three-point percentage, converting 38.9 percent, and hold the top two individual spots with Charlie Brown, Jr. (52.2) and Jared Bynum (50.0)
• Charlie Brown, Jr., is the leading scorer in the A-10 with 23.4 points per game and ranks 18th in the nation
• Freshman Jared Bynum was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week after averaging 20.0 points last week.  He leads the confeence and ranks 10th in the nation in assist/turnover ratio with 4.83

LAST TIME OUT
Jared Bynum scored a career-high 23 points but Temple rallied to defeat Saint Joseph's, 77-70, in a Big 5 game at soldout Hagan Arena
Charlie Brown, Jr., tallied 18 points for Saint Joseph's and Taylor Funk tied his career-high with 13 rebounds
• With the game tied at 60-60, Temple hit three consecutive three-pointers to take a 69-60 lead and seal the win
• Temple trailed by as much as 11 points late in the first half and by 41-33 at halftime
• Neither team shot well in the contest, with both under 40 percent. But the Hawks converted only 29.2 percent (7-for-24) from three-point range, despite entering the game hitting 40 percent on the season

WELCOME TO THE LEAGUE
Jared Bynum was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week after averaging 20.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the Hawks' 1-1 week for the first honor of his career
• He converted 68.8 percent (11-for-16) from the field and 94.1 percent (16-of-17) from the foul line in the two games
• Bynum tied his career-high with 17 points in the win over UIC, converting 9-of-9 free throws. He also registered two assists and no turnovers for the fourth time in seven games
• He then set a new career-high with 23 points against Temple, making 7-of-9 field goals and 7-of-8 free throws, and tying his season-high with five assists

OUT OF ACTION
• The Hawks suffered a blow when leading rebounder Pierfrancesco Oliva suffered a concussion early in the second half vs. Temple
• He is out for tonight and will be re-evaluated later this week
• Oliva is the third leading rebounder in the A-10 (8.0) and his absence was felt vs. Temple as the Hawks were outrebounded, 44-35

FRESH APPROACH
• Lamarr “Fresh” Kimble keyed the Hawks' rally from 13 points down against UIC as SJU recorded the 89-75 win
• It was his second 31-point effort in three games, as he previously set his career-high against West Virginia on November 18
• Kimble scored 24 points in the second half, which is highest single-half total for a Hawk this season. Charlie Brown scored 23 of his 37 points vs. William & Mary in the first half
• Kimble is now averaging a career-best 17.5 points per game and is the Hawks' leader in free throw percentage with 82.9 percent

WHAT BROWN CAN DO FOR YOU
Charlie Brown, Jr., established a new career-high for the third time this year as he poured in 37 points at William & Mary
• He scored 23 in the first half, the highest single-half total of his career, hitting 11-of-17 from the field and 11-of-14 from the foul line
• His 37 points are the third most in the history of Kaplan Arena and tied the seventh highest single-game scoring total in Saint Joseph's history
• Brown is the leading scorer in the A-10 with his 23.4 average. The last Hawk to average 20+ points in a full season was Jameer Nelson (20.6) in 2003-04. Shavar Newkirk averaged 20.3 in 2016-17, but he played only 12 games due to a knee injury

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
• The Hawks are ranked second in the nation in turnovers per game (7.8) and are sixth in fewest number of turnovers with 63
• SJU has committed less than 11 turnovers in every game this season, with a low of six vs. Monmouth
• Freshman Jared Bynum leads the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio with 4.8 and is ranked 10th in the nation. He has 29 assists this year to just six turnovers

LOOKING AHEAD
• SJU will continue its busy two-week stretch by visiting Big 5 rival #21 Villanova on Saturday, Dec. 8
• The Hawks then take the annual break for final exams and will return to action on Dec. 22 by hosting 2018 Final Four team Loyola Chicago at the Palestra
• Saint Joseph's next game in Hagan Arena will be on Dec. 29 against Wagner
