Shavar Newkirk was named the Big 5 Player of the Week for Feb. 19 after averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.0 assists in two wins

• He had 26 points and 10 assists vs. Duquesne, without a turnover in 39 minutes • Newkirk had 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists at Fordham

ROAD WOES
• The Hawks ended their eight-game road losing streak and won their first A-10 road contest of the year by defeating Fordham, 71-55, on Feb. 14
• SJU is 2-9 on the road this year and owns a
-4.7 scoring margin in away games

STARTER SHAKEUP
Phil Martelli changed the starting lineup vs. UMass as Nick Robinson replaced Chris Clover and Anthony Longpré took over for Pierfrancesco Oliva; SJU was 3-0 with those two joining Shavar Newkirk, James Demery and Taylor Funk
• With Demery missing the George Mason game due to a sprained ankle, Clover regained a starting spot
• The Hawks have used five different starting lineups this season; no player has started all 27 games for SJU
