Chris Clover has started the past three games for James Demery (ankle), although Demery has come off the bench in the last two, averaging 16.0 minutes
• This meeting is the designated Big 5 contest - the Hawks are 0-3 and La Salle is 2-1 this year in the Philadelphia Big 5
• If SJU wins, it will mark the 400th victory on campus in the 68 seasons of Hagan Arena/Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse
• It is “Senior Day” where the Hawks' six senior players and five managers will be honored in a pre-game ceremony beginning at 1:45 p.m.
• Fans will be asked to remain in their seats for a brief post-game ceremony acknowledging athletic director Don DiJulia, who is retiring at the end of the academic year

LAST TIME OUT
James Demery scored 21 points, and Taylor Funk had 17 points on perfect shooting as SJU routed #17 Rhode Island, 78-48, at the Ryan Center; Shavar Newkirk had 14 points and seven assists while Nick Robinson added 10 points
• SJU held Rhode Island to its lowest point total of the season and handed the Rams their first home loss of the year
• The Hawks jumped out quickly taking a 20-7 lead and kept it going, increasing it to 24-10 as URI made only four of its first 20 field goals and was 1-for-10 from three-point range; SJU held a 35-16 halftime lead
• The second half was more of the same as the Hawks went up by 20, 39-19, in the first two and a half minutes and were up by 31 points, 52-21, at the 13:31 mark on a layup by Funk

MORE ON THE WIN
• The victory over Rhode Island marked Saint Joseph's first win over a ranked opponent in a true road game since Jan. 2, 1979, when the Hawks defeated #15 Georgetown, 37-36, at McDonough Arena
• It was also SJU's first win over a Top 25 team since a 79-70 win over #15 Dayton on February 17, 2016 at Hagan Arena
• SJU was the second unranked team in the College Basketball Reference database (since 1949-50) to win a road game against a ranked opponent by 30-plus points. The other was Connecticut over #12 Virginia, 77-36) in 1993
• SJU held the A-10 regular-season champion Rams to their lowest point total in a half this season and it was the least points scored by a Hawk opponent in a half this year
• The Hawks limited URI to 28.1% from the field and 10.3% from 3-point range (3-of-29); in the first half the Rams shot just 19.4% and made only 1-of-15 threes (6.7%)
