10/19/2021 12:00:00 PM

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's field hockey team held on to its #11 ranking in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hawks split a pair of games over the weekend, falling in overtime on Friday at UMass – which moved up a spot to #20 after defeating SJU and falling to Richmond two days later – before topping then-#12 Boston College, 2-0, on Sunday.  The Eagles slipped one spot after also falling to #4 Louisville.

Four of the Hawks' previous opponents remained in the top 10, with Rutgers, Maryland, and North Carolina holding steady at third, eighth, and 10th, respectively, while Penn State fell two spots to #7.  Another previous opponent, Delaware, slid three places to 23rd.

Saint Joseph's has one game left on the schedule against ranked opposition, as #21 Ohio State comes to Hawk Hill for the regular season finale on October 31.

The Hawks return to action on Friday when they host Davidson at 3:00 p.m.
