PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's women's basketball returns to action after a thrilling win this past Saturday as it heads to The Palestra on Tuesday night for a battle with Penn.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • St. Joe's enters play at 2-6 after defeating Ivy League opponent, Yale, on Saturday.
  • The Hawks are recording 55.0 points per outing and allowing 58.0.
  • SJU is connecting on 37.5% of its shots from the field, 29.2% from three-point range, and 70.2% from the free throw line.
  • Seven Hawks are scoring at least 5.6 ppg or better this season with junior Kaliah Henderson (9.8) and graduate student Alayna Gribble (9.3) both above 9.0. Henderson (5.8) and Gribble (5.0) also sit first and second, respectively, in rebounding.
  • Graduate student Katie Jekot is third in scoring with 8.3 points per game and leads the squad with 3.57 assists on average. Jekot is third in the conference and 73rd in the nation in assist to turnover ratio at 2.27.

  • The Quakers are 4-5 overall under 13th year head coach Mike McLaughlin.
  • Penn is scoring 64.4 points and allowing 59.9 points on average, while shooting 40.2% overall, 34.7% from deep, and 64.1% from the line.
  • Six Quakers are averaging at least 8.2 ppg or higher this season with Kayla Padilla (21.2), Jordan Obi (14.2), and Mia Lakstigala (13.8) all in double figures.
  • Penn posts four players with at least 6.7 rpg with Kennedy Suttle leading the way at 9.8.
