SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student standout Zach Michon (1500m) and Saint Joseph's 4x800m relay earned third-place finishes to lead the Saint Joseph's men's track and field squad to 13th in a field of 32 scored teams at the 2021 IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Hosted by American International College at the John G. Hoyt Track and Field Complex, the meet saw the Crimson and Gray earn 22 points.

Michon took home the third-place finish in the 1500m field of 32 in 3:47.21; he finished second in his heat to Navy's Ashwin Briggs (3:47.14) and did not have the opportunity to race directly against the eventual winner, Daniel Cosgrove of UMass Lowell (3:47.07). With his performance, Michon earned the first IC4A medal of his collegiate career and picked up six points for the Crimson and Gray.

Saint Joseph's 4x800m relay of freshmen Owen Moelter, Gavin Campbell, and Jayden Greene alongside junior anchor Javier Linares led SJU's three scoring relays with a third-place, six-point finish as the group crossed in 7:42.20.

Freshman Patrick Fehm placed fifth in a field of 12 in the high jump, posting a mark of 6' 6 3/4". The second-best performance by a rookie, the mark matches his season best and was good for four points.

Saint Joseph's other two relays combined for five points, as the 4x400m relay of junior Michael Welde, junior captain Kyle Magee, senior captain Sebastian Eaton, and freshman Eric Ford crossed in 3:19.66 for sixth place and the 4x100m relay of senior captain Vincent Giordano, Welde, Eaton, and graduate student David Bryant crossed in 41.83 for seventh.

In the 400m hurdles, Magee won his heat by nearly an entire second en route to an eighth-place finish, clocking in at 54.57 for one point.

Finishing as the top Hawks in non-scoring performances…
Eaton went sub-49.00 for 400m for the first time in his collegiate career, dropping a PR of 48.90 to earn ninth in a field of 21; Eaton won his heat but missed scoring by just .19 seconds.

Bryant placed 14th in the open 100m (11.04) while Ford placed 15th in the open 200m (22.61).

Fehm added a 13th-place finish in the triple jump (44' 7 1/2").
