CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams
A CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team honoree a season ago, Scarpill led the cross country squad in both races this past spring. The captain finished fifth at the season-opening George Mason Invitational, before earning All-Conference honors with a fourth-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
On the track, Scarpill opened the outdoor season with new PRs in both the 1500m (3:55.27) and 5000m (14:55.47), before closing his collegiate career with a sixth-place, scoring performance in the 3000m steeplechase (9:29.70) at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Earning Academic All-America recognition for the second consecutive year, Scarpill is the lone Hawk to earn the honor multiple times, and just the second SJU Academic All-American in SJU men's track and field and cross country program history as he joined Tim Fisher (2003) in the elite club a season ago.
A native of Warrington, Pa., Scarpill graduated from SJU in May with his bachelor's degree in actuarial science and minors in risk management and insurance, business analytics, and mathematics and now works as an actuary for Chubb.
