Box Score PHILADELPHIA – A quartet of Devils set or matched career-bests in scoring in the No. 22 USciences women's basketball team's 76-56 win over Bloomfield on Thursday evening at Bobby Morgan Arena.
Kerry Patterson (11 points), Juliana Gura (six), Riley Vingsen (four) and Bria Johnson (four) gave University of the Sciences a balanced scoring attack.
Kendall Keyes led all players with 17 points in just 18 minutes, making a career-high 5-of-9 3-pointers.
Patterson (3-of-5) and Dayna Balasa (3-of-4) also set or matched career-bests in 3-pointers as USciences made a season-high 14 triples as a team, contributing to the Devils' season-best 76 points in regulation.
Patterson and Johnson set or matched new career-highs with four rebounds too, while Isla Brennan led all players with a career-best four steals.
Taylor Hamm neared her third double-double in five games with a game-high 11 boards, to go along with nine points.
Shannon May led all players with five assists, one shy of a career-best.
After a slow start saw just USciences score just three points in the opening 5:37, the Devils exploded for 18 in the final 4:23, featuring six baskets and two free throws by five different players, including four 3-pointers by four different players.
The final lead change came on two Keyes free throws with 1:41 remaining in the first quarter, and after leading 21-13 following 10 minutes of play USciences went ahead by double-digits for good on Brennan's layup 1:23 into the second.
The Devils host their second game in three days this Saturday, welcoming Felician to Bobby Morgan Arena for a 1 p.m. tip.
