Men's Basketball Closes Road Schedule with Loss at CACC South Leader Jefferson

Box Score

PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences men's basketball team hung tough with Jefferson for the opening portion of the first half at a packed Gallagher Center, before the Rams pulled away for an 82-56 win over the Devils on Wednesday evening.

Matthew McCaffrey's 3-pointer made the score 23-19 midway through the first period, but Jefferson would score 10 unanswered to make it a double-digit game nearly for good.

Another McCaffrey triple momentarily made it a nine-point game, 35-26, five minutes ahead of the half, but this time the Rams scored six in a row en route to a 45-31 halftime advantage.

McCaffrey would finish with a season-best 11 points off the bench.

He was joined in double-figures by Sean Simon, who tallied 13 to help the USciences bench outscore Jefferson's 29-7.

Jordan Davidson and Jaakko Juusela each added eight points, which tied a season-best for the latter.

Both also had a team-high three assists, while Juusela led the Devils with six rebounds.

University of the Sciences closes out its season on Saturday against another city-rival, hosting Chestnut Hill.

Prior to the 3 p.m. tip, the Devils will honor its senior class of  Davidson, Simon and Austin Kennedy
