MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's field hockey team held on to its ranking of 14th in the latest Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
The Hawks routed Richmond, 4-0, in their only game last week to clinch a berth in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Saint Joseph's can lock up at least a share of its seventh Atlantic 10 regular season title in the past eight seasons with a win in one of its final two conference games.
Past Hawk opponents North Carolina and Virginia are ranked in the top 10; both moved up a spot to second and seventh, respectively. Harvard held steady at 11th, while Michigan moved up a spot to 15th, UMass Lowell jumped up two places to 18th, and UMass slipped two spots to 19th.
The Hawks wrap up the regular season with three consecutive home games. Davidson visits Hawk Hill on Friday before Temple comes to Ellen Ryan Field for Senior Day on Sunday. The regular season concludes against La Salle on October 27.
