Men's Track and Field Begins Indoor Season at Fastrack National Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team started the indoor season on Friday evening, taking part in the Fastrack National Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Facility in Staten Island.


HOW THE HAWKS FINISHED (TRACK EVENTS)
  • Four of the top six runners in the mile were from the Crimson and Gray. Gavin Campbell took home the top spot, finishing in a time of 4:11.15. Trailing just behind, Owen Moelter finished with a 4:14.47 time that secured second place. Graham Phillips earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:19.14, while Josh Thaler added a sixth-place finish with his 4:22.54 time. Freshman Anton Bovone made his collegiate debut with a time of 4:32.03 to finish 13th.
  • Freshman Gabriel Lewis finished with the best time in his group in the 60m dash prelims, earning a spot in the finals with his 6.94s finish. The debutant bested his time with a 6.87s finish, earning him top spot in the meet by .02s.
  • Jayden Greene was one of four runners to finish in the top seven in the 500m run, leading the pack with a 1:04.49 time. Kevin Dennin finished thousandths of a second off of third with a 1:07.06 finish, while sophomore Regent Walden followed behind only two tenths off of his teammate (1:07.24). Lleyton Winslow rounded out the strong contingency with a seventh-place finish of 1:08.22.
  • Luke Noss finished fifth in a 55-competitor field in the 400m dash, taking a 50.20s time into the finish line. Jake Carrubba finished with a time of 51.71s in his season debut.
  • Freshman Immanuel Rota-Talarico started his career off with a time of 1:58.69 in the 800 meter run, the time proving good for fourth place. Freshman teammate Colin Donahoe also competed in the 800m, finishing in 2:06.95.
  • Ben Henry led a pair of Hawks in the 200m, finishing with a time of 22.40s for fifth place. Freshman Adam Petersen clocked in a 23:01s finish in his debut.
  • The 4x800m relay team consisted of Campbell, Moelter, Murphy and Thaler. The Hawk squad placed first by nearly 44 seconds en route to a 7:42.54 finish.
  • St. Joe's finished fourth in the 4x400m relay, the team consisting of Brittingham, Cammauf, Carrubba and Noss. The four finished with a time of 3:23.57. A second team for the Hawks finished with a time of 3:30.09.
 
HOW THE HAWKS FINISHED (FIELD EVENTS)
  • Patrick Fehm finished with the top marks for the Hawks in the long jump, his second jump and only non-scratch good for a mark of 7.07m (23' 3 1/4"). Cameron Campbell-Miller and Donald Adams each posted exact scores with second jumps of 6.95m (22' 9 1/2"). Logan Henry rounded out the Hawks with a 6.60m (21' 7 ¾") effort.
  • Fehm also finished tied for fourth in the high jump with a best effort of 1.94m (6' 4½").
  • Campbell-Miller doubled up in the triple jump, finishing eighth with his best leap of 13.10m (42' 11¾") coming on his third attempt.
