VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Four members of the Saint Joseph's field hockey program took part in the 2023 Senior Nexus Championship, held last week at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center.

Graduate student Leigh James, seniors Katelyn Cocco and Lily Santi, and sophomore Caroline Brickley all competed in the event, with Santi's Team Rome claiming fourth place, James' Team Montreal finishing fifth, Cocco's Team Paris coming in sixth, and Brickley's Team Squaw Valley placing seventh.

The Senior Nexus Championship, formerly known as the Young Women's National Championship, is a key component of USA Field Hockey's Olympic development pathway.  The event allows players to work with the Team USA coaching staff and serves as a selection opportunity for the National Development Squad and both the U-21 and senior Women's National Teams.
