Mackenzie Smith earned Big 5 Player of the Week honors after a standout 26-point performance, announced by organization officials on Monday afternoon.
In the Hawks' lone game of the week, Smith posted a season-high 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting (75.0%) in a victory over Maine. Smith hit a career-high six three-pointers on just nine attempts (66.7%), marking her fourth game this season with 20 or more points.
Smith enters the Hawk Classic as one of the nation's premier shooters, ranking eighth in the NCAA with a 50.0% three-point shooting percentage. Her 2.89 made three-pointers per game place her 23rd nationally. The Shelburne, Nova Scotia, native also continues to climb the program's scoring ranks, sitting 13th all-time while averaging 17.0 points per game in her final season on Hawk Hill.
