Men’s Track and Field Concludes Season-Opening Meet at Penn Opener

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team opened its season at the Penn Opener on Saturday afternoon inside The Ott Center.
 
SATURDAY TRACK EVENTS
  • Anton Bovone opened the events on the track for the Hawks, finishing the mile in a time of 4:35.23.
  • Benjamin Henry made the finals in the 60m dash, taking the fifth-fastest time in the prelims with a time of 6.95s to set a personal best. Logan Henry also set a new PR with a finish of 7.11s.
  • Benjamin Henry earned seventh in the 60m finals, timing at a 6.99s finish.
  • Elijah Smith opened his collegiate campaign in the 600m, coming in fourth place with a time of 1:19.69. Freshman teammate Chris Manzo finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 1:22.90, just edging the third freshman in the event after Tommy Silvester finished with a 1:24.65 finish. Colin Donahoe wrapped up the event with a time of 1:25.61.
  • Joshua Thaler led a group of five Hawks in the 1000m, placing ninth in the event with a time of 2:26.11. Jayden Greene finished 12th with a time of 2:28.33 while Tom Barausky placed 14th with a 2:29.86 finish. Immanuel Rota-Talarico finished with a time of 2:30.92, while Sean Murphy closed out the group with a time of 2:39.52.
  • Darren Cammauf finished in a scoring position in the 300m, crossing the line eighth with a time of 35.13s. Henry Peklo (36.33s) and Eli Turner (36.35s) were separated by two-hundredths of a second.
  • Benjamin Henry, Cammauf, Greene and James Mackey Jr. combined for a 3:17.95 time in the 4x400m relay to place third. Silvester, Manzo, Smith and Thaler placed seventh with a time of 3:22.20.
 
SATURDAY FIELD EVENTS
  • Logan Henry's second jump proved his longest in the long jump, the leap of 6.36m placing him sixth in the field.
 
UP NEXT
  • The Hawks are off for nearly a month, returning to Penn on January 11 for the Penn Opener.
