Men’s Track And Field Finishes Sixth at Atlantic 10 Championships

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team finished five points shy of a fourth-place finish, placing sixth after the final day of the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.

TRACK EVENTS:
  • The Hawks were unable to gain any points in the mile run in the opening event, but Ryan Cichocki was able to grab a PR of 4:27.30 in his race.
  • The points did come early, 14 of them tallied in the 500m as Darren Cammauf secured a gold medal finish in the event with a time of 1:03.54. His time was just .23s off a top 10 pace in program history, but Cammauf did beat the field by more than three-tenths of a second on his way to a new personal best. Luke Noss also grabbed points for the Hawks in the event with a fifth-place time of 1:04.72.
  • Another podium finish came by way of Jayden Greene, the senior cruising to a third-place finish after crossing the line in 1:51.62.
  • After entering the top 10 in program history yesterday, Owen Moelter followed his performance in the 1,000m with a time of 2:29.00 to finish sixth.
  • Michael Glavin and Josh Forrest each set PRs in the 3,000m but fell short in tallying points for the Hawks.
  • The 4x800m relay team of Graham Phillips, Gavin Campbell, Owen Moelter and Jayden Greene finished second, the time of 7:33.60 less than a second off the pace of George Mason's winning effort.
  • Luke Noss, Jake Carrubba, Ben Henry and Darren Cammauf joined their relay counterpart in a scoring finish in the 4x400m relay. The quad timed in at 3:15.54 to finish fourth.
 
 
FIELD EVENTS:
  • Patrick Fehm scored in the second consecutive day, this time reaping eight points in the high jump for the Hawks with his joint-best effort of 2.07m (6' 9 ¼"). Despite tying the best mark on the day, Fehm settled for second after clearing the bar on his second attempt, Matthew Santy of Rhode Island hitting his mark in the opening effort.

The Hawks participate in the IC4A Championships, set to begin March 1-3.
