WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's freshman infielder
Tim Dickinson was named the Atlantic 10 Baseball Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Â
Dickinson hit safely in all three games last week as the Hawks took two of three from preseason favorites and league-leaders Saint Louis. On Saturday, he went 3-for-3 and reached base five times, scoring three runs and driving in two more, as the Hawks topped the Billikens, 9-1.
Â
The Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, native then ripped his first collegiate home run in the first inning on Sunday, giving the Hawks a lead they would not relinquish as SJU won the series with a 7-3 triumph. Dickinson collected three RBI and scored a run on the day; for the weekend, he posted a .600 batting average with a .714 on-base percentage and a .900 slugging percentage.
Â
The Hawks are scheduled to host Delaware this week before heading to Rhode Island for a weekend conference series.
