Men’s Track and Field Finish Action at the IC4A Outdoor Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team wrapped up action at the IC4A Championships on Sunday, grabbing a pair of individual and relay scoring finishes on the weekend.
 
The meet was hosted by George Mason, the Hawks' third time of the season traveling to George Mason Stadium to compete.
 
TRACK EVENTS – SATURDAY
  • Matthew Coffey opened events on the track with a new PR in the 1500m, finishing in a scoring position with a sixth-place time of 3:51.87. Will Rau (3:56.86), Michael Glavin (3:57.13) and Josh Forrest (3:57.16) finished back-to-back with just three-tenths separating the trio for 16th-18th.
  • Gavin Campbell set a new personal record in the 800m, finishing just outside the top 10 as the senior finished with a time of 1:51.52. Owen Moelter finished just two places behind his teammate, timing in 13th after a season-best finish of 1:51.76. Graham Phillips also set a PR in the event, the junior finishing with a time of 1:52.63 to take 16th.
  • Kevin Jumper finished with the top time for the Hawks in the 5000m, recording a 14:37.67 time to place just outside of the top 10.
  • The Hawks ended Saturday with a personal record in the 10000m, as Jay Shanahan set his best time in the event to finish ninth with a time of 30:48.02.
 
FIELD EVENTS – SATURDAY
  • Donald Adams produced a season-best by nearly two inches, his best effort of 6.61m (21-08.25) putting him in 13th in the long jump.
 
TRACK EVENTS – SUNDAY
  • A trio of Hawks started the team's second day of action in the 400m, Michael Brittingham finishing with the fastest time of the three St. Joe's runners with a finish of 46.64s. Jake Carrubba set a PR in the event with a 49.32s finish, Luke Noss rounding out the three with a time of 49.64s.
  • Benjamin Henry won his individual heat, earning him a scoring finish in the 200m with a time of 21.71 as the sophomore finished eighth.
  • The Hawks capped off the meet with a pair of relays, starting with the 4x800m relay. The team of Gavin Campbell, Graham Phillips, Joshua Thaler and Owen Moelter finished in second, just under three-tenths off of the top spot with a time of 7:29.11.
  • Michael Brittingham, Benjamin Henry, Luke Noss and Darren Cammauf combined for a time of 3:16.45 in the 4x400m relay, capping off the meet with a sixth-place finish.
