Men’s Track and Field Compete at Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's men's track and field team finished action at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite on Saturday inside the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
 
 
TRACK RESULTS
  • Kevin Jumper was one of three Hawks that opened the competition for the Hawks in the 5000m, finishing with a sixth-place time of 14:35.75 to earn IC4A qualification. Ian Romea (15:08.59) and Aidan Doherty (15:08.83) finished neck-and-neck with only .24s separating the two runners. Romea set a new PR, while Doherty made his indoor debut in the 5000m.
  • Logan Henry's time of 7.16s was unable to garner a spot in the finals of the 60m dash. Adam Petersen finished just off the pace of the junior with a time of 7.20s, while Eli Turner (7.28s) and Cameron Campbell-Miller (7.51s) rounded out the group of Hawks.
  • Graham Phillips led a group of seven Hawks in the 800m with a time of 1:53.03 to qualify for IC4As. Freshman Elijah Smith followed just behind with a 1:53.22 effort to also earn an IC4A-qualifying time and a new PR. Joshua Thaler (1:53.63) and Jayden Greene (1:53.64) posted nearly identical times as the top four Hawks finished within .61 seconds of each other. Anton Bovone (1:55.16), Chris Manzo (1:56.12) and Tommy Silvester (2:00.47) closed out the group. Bovone set a new personal-best in his performance.
  • Darren Cammauf produced a fourth-place finish in the 500m behind a time of 1:03.53. Luke Noss ran a 1:05.23 in the event, while Regent Walden finished just behind with a 1:05.68.
  • In the invite portion of the 400m, Jake Carrubba finished with an effort of 50.72s. Turner (50.20s) and James Mackey Jr. (50.43s) finished eighth and ninth in the open section of the event.
  • St. Joe's was led by Will Rau in the mile, finishing as the first of eight Hawks with a time of 4:08.81. Under two seconds separated the next four finishers, Brendan Hefferan leading the pack with a time 4:16.11. Matt Hoffman (4:16.50) and Jack Bolling (4:16.57) finished seven-hundredths off of each other, while Colton Johnson rounded out the pack with a 4:17.78 finish. Dawson Baptiste and Ryan Cichocki followed behind with finishes of 4:18.61 and 4:20.37, while Tommy Johnson crossed the finish line in 4:30.91.
  • Benjamin Henry was the lone Hawk in the invitational of the 200m, finishing 13th with a new PR of 21.70s.
  • Turner's personal-best time of 22.50s led a group of four Hawks in the open 200m, Adam following behind in 22.77s. Carrubba (22.93s) and Mackey Jr. (23.22s) rounded out the group.
  • Tom Barausky took the best time of a trio of Hawks in the 1000m, recording an eighth-place finish with his new personal-best time of 2:26.36. Tomek Przybylak finished under a second after the freshman while Immanuel Rota-Talarico finished shortly after the duo with an effort of 2:28.70 to produce a new PR.
  • Josh Forrest paced four Hawks in the 3000m, notching a time of 8:22.30. Michael Glavin was the second Hawk to cross the line with an effort of 8:23.85. Jay Shanahan (8:38.60) and Anthony Gargani (8:40.65) crossed the finish line back-to-back to close out the individual competition.
  • A pair of 4x400m relay teams rounded out the meet. The group of Cammauf, Henry, Noss and Turner finished with a time of 3:16.22,while the team  of Silvester, Manzo, Thaler and Smith recorded a time of 3:19.35.
 
FIELD RESULTS
  • Only .04m separated the two Hawks competing in the long jump, Cameron Campbell-Miller besting Logan Henry with efforts of 6.65m and 6.61m to record a ninth- and 10th-place finish.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks return to the track in two weeks, staying in the city to take part in the Philadelphia Metro on Saturday, February 22.
