Men’s Track Concludes Action at Penn Challenge in Outdoor Season Opener

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Saint Joseph's men's track team opened up the 2025 outdoor season at Franklin Field in the Penn Challenge on Saturday.
 
TRACK RESULTS
  • In the 1500m, Tom Barausky began his first collegiate outdoor season to lead the Hawks with a time 4:00.17. Ryan Cichocki and Anton Bovone were separated by five-tenths of a second to run a 4:03.03 and 4:03.55, respectively. Finishing back-to-back, Elijah Smith and Immanuel Rota-Talarico crossed the finish line in 4:05.92 and 4:06.15. Aidan Doherty (4:06.92) and Tommy Johnson (4:08.43) closed out the first event of the day.
  • A trio of Hawks were separated by only 0.08 seconds in the 100m, with Logan Henry setting a new PR of 11.16s. Adam Petersen and Henry Peklo followed behind with 11.20s and 11.24s times.
  • Freshman Matt Hoffman was the first Hawk to cross the line in the 800m with an effort of 1:57.93. Regent Walden ran just under the two-minute barrier in 1:59.34 with Sean Murphy close behind in 2:00.33. Matthew Carnes (2:01.83) set a new PR in the first meet of the season. Ethan McIntyre finished right behind the sophomore with a time of 2:02.14.
  • Freshman Eli Turner made his outdoor collegiate debut with a time of 22.66s in the 200m. James Mackey Jr. followed close behind in 23.00s.
  • Noah Deckert closed out the meet by taking the eighth spot in the 3000m after returning from injury, running a time of 8:42.66. Cole Wassell (10:00.37) closed out the day for the Hawks.

The Hawks return to the track on March 28-29 at the Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener.
