Strong Performances Highlight Men’s Track at Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – Three individual and two relay wins highlighted a strong performance for the Saint Joseph's women's track team at the Danny Curran Invitational. The two-day meet hosted by Widener concluded action on Saturday.
 
 
TRACK RESULTS
  • The men's track team opened with the 4x100m relay to start the morning, Benjamin Henry, Henry Peklo, Cameron Campbell-Miller and Adam Petersen starting with an eighth-place finish of 43.29s in the relay.
  • Matt Hoffman secured a second-place finish in the 1500m for the first podium of the day for St. Joe's, producing a time of 3:56.71. Hoffman was joined with scoring finishes from Joshua Thaler (5th – 3:57.60), Anthony Gargani (6th – 3:57.90) and Graham Phillips (8th – 3:58.43), while Colton Johnson and Eli Stoudt rounded out the top 10 with efforts of 3:58.89 and 3:59.08. Tommy Johnson (4:00.26) and Ethan McIntyre (4:00.93) nearly finished under the four-minute mark, while Chris Manzo (4:02.15) and Vincent Twomey (4:02.40) rounded out a group of 10 Hawks that finished in the top 20. Kevin Jumper finished 21st in the 100-runner field with a time of 4:03.21, while Tommy Silvester rounded out the Hawks with a 4:20.83 finish.
  • Jayden Greene led a group of eight Hawks in the 400m, producing a team-best 48.98s finish to take eighth place. Darren Cammauf recorded a 49.26s effort that proved good for 12th place, while Jake Carrubba and Tomek Przybylak were separated by just .02s with times of 49.39s and 49.41s. Regent Walden followed shortly after with his finish of 49.62s before James Mackey Jr. (49.90s) became the sixth Hawk to finish under 50 seconds. Elijah Smith (50.06s) and Eli Turner (50.24s) rounded out the performances in the event.
  • B. Henry returned to the track to record a first-place finish in the 100m, timing in at 10.68s to become the first Hawk to record a top spot in the meet.
  • Five Hawks finished in the top seven of the 800m, led by Michael Glavin's second-place effort of 1:53.11. Will Rau (1:53.62), Tom Barausky (1:53.84) and Dawson Baptiste (1:53.95) took third-fifth place after only .33 seconds separated the trio. Brendan Hefferan rounded out the top seven after the rookie timed in at 1:54.12. In another busy event for the Hawks, Immanuel Rota-Talarico finished just outside the top 10 with a time of 1:54.79, while Anton Bovone finished in 13th with a 1:55.01 effort. Noah Deckert (1:55.70) and Josh Forrest (1:56.20) also produced top 20 times on the afternoon. Twomey (1:59.27), Matt Carnes (2:00.16), T.  Johnson (2:00.87) and Colin Donahoe (2:00.91) all finished in the top half of the field.
  • Luke Noss was .36s shy of earning a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles, settling for second with a time of 53.42s.
  • Earning his second first-place finish of the day, B. Henry recorded the top time in the 200m after producing a 21.24s effort. Noss made a quick return to the track to place 13th with a time of 22.19s. Cammauf (22.54s) and Carrubba (22.56s) were separated by just .02s, Petersen closely following with a time of 22.61s. Peklo (22.75s) and Turner (22.77s) were also separated by just .02s, Mackey Jr. closing out the event with a 23.29s time.
  • Ryan Cichocki placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:33.20, only 2.5 seconds separating first and third. Aidan Doherty was the next to cross the line, his time of 9:43.90 placing fourth.
  • The 4x400m relay team of Greene, Smith, Przybylak and Rau closed out the meet with a second-place finish with a time of 3:15.94.
 
FIELD RESULTS
  • Logan Henry produced a best effort of 6.30m in the long jump.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks head down to Fairfax, Va. to take part in the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, hosted by George Mason. The two-day meet starts on Friday, April 4.
