DMR Takes Gold As Men's Track and Field Competes At IC4A Indoor Championships

Saint Joseph's Men's Distance Medley of Will RauChris Manzo, Elijah Smith and Michael Glavin captured gold in a time of 9:54.05 as one of the many highlights from Saint Joseph's men's track and field team's performance at the IC4A Indoor Championships.

TRACK RESULTS (SATURDAY)
  • Michael Glavin led a pair of Hawks in the mile with a time of 4:13.91. Will Rau followed behind with a 4:21.72 finish.
  • Benjamin Henry took the top time in the 400m prelims with an effort of 47.70s, outpacing the field by .05s. Darren Cammauf also posted a qualifying effort by finishing seventh with a 48.30s finish.
  • Three Hawks posted a qualifying performance in the 500m prelims, rookie Tommy Silvester finishing fifth with a time of 1:04.32. Freshman counterpart Chris Manzo followed behind with an 1:04.77 effort to finish sixth. Luke Noss tallied the third qualifying time, taking eighth by running a 1:05.23 race. Regent Walden recorded a time of 1:07.16.
  • Five Hawks competed in the 800m prelims, led by Joshua Thaler's fourth-place finish by crossing the line with a 1:54.10 time. Tomek Przybylak recorded the final qualifying time with a 1:53.93 to place ninth. Jayden Greene just missed out with a 1:54.73 finish. Elijah Smith (1:56.15) and Graham Phillips (1:56.87) rounded out the event for the Crimson and Gray.
  • Anton Bovone (2:27.59) placed sixth in the 1000m prelims to qualify for tomorrow's finals, Dawson Baptiste (2:27.76) joining Bovone in the finals with his eighth-place effort. Just .17s separated Brendan Hefferan from a qualifying time after crossing the finish line in 2:28.00, while freshman teammate Tom Barausky placed right behind Hefferan with a time of 2:29.40. Immanuel Rota-Talarico crossed the finish line in 2:32.88.
  • Kevin Jumper finished the 5000m with a time of 15:18.07.
FIELD RESULTS (SATURDAY)
  • Cameron Campbell-Miller secured third place in the long jump, finding his best attempt on his fourth try to produce an effort of 6.95m.
TRACK RESULTS (SUNDAY)
  • Henry finished on the podium in the 400m finals, posting a time of 48.05s to place third in the event. Cammauf finished under three-tenths behind the junior to take home fifth with a 48.32s finish.
  • The Hawks captured gold in the 500m finals through Silvester. The freshman's time of 1:03.07 was .63s faster than the field to take the top spot in the event. Manzo earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:04.24, while Luke Noss' 1:04.66 time placed sixth as the trio all produced scoring finishes.
  • Thaler and Przybylak placed sixth and seventh respectively in the 800m finals, producing times of 1:52.96 and 1:53.58.
  • Two more Hawks recorded scoring marks in the 1000m finals, led by Baptiste's sixth-place effort of 2:29.03. Bovone recorded a time of 2:29.39 to finish eighth.
  • St. Joe's closed out individual action in the 3000m, Colton Johnson earning a fifth-place finish after crossing the line in 8:24.69. Anthony Gargani added a single point after finishing eighth with a time of 8:28.28. Josh Forrest placed 11th after recording an 8:34.97 time.
  • The Hawks' 4x800m relay team of Greene, Silvester, Phillips and Thaler placed second in a time of 7:33.82.
  • In the 4x400m relay, Saint Joseph's Cammauf, Henry, Noss and Jake Carrubba captured silver with a time of 3:11.80.
