Men’s Track Round Out Competition at the Paul Donahue Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's track team completed a two-day meet at Widener University on Saturday, taking part in the Paul Donahue Invitational.
 
 
FRIDAY TRACK RESULTS
  • Five Hawks competed in the elite section of the 800m to open events on Friday, rookie Tommy Silvester earning a second-place finish with a time of 1:49.37. Jayden Greene added a time of 1:50.96 to take sixth in the event while Graham Phillips snuck into the top 10 with a ninth-place effort of 1:51.73. Joshua Thaler (1:52.57) and Elijah Smith (1:53.24) rounded out the Hawk contingency.
  • Vincent Twomey registered a time of 15:32.26 to finish in the top half of the field in the 5000m.
  • Darren Cammauf was the lone competitor for the Hawks in the 100m, clocking a time of 11.41s.
 
SATURDAY TRACK RESULTS
  • Brendan Hefferan earned gold in the open section of the 1500m, beginning Saturday's action for the Crimson and Gray with a 3:51.16 time. Freshman counterpart Matt Hoffman added a finish of 3:54.92 to place fourth in the event. Noah Deckert posted a top-10 finish after securing a time of 3:56.76. Eli Stoudt recorded a time of 4:00.80s while Tommy Johnson clocked in at a 4:02.21 to finish well within a top-half finish.
  • Only .01s separated Tomek Przybylak and Darren Cammauf in the men's 400m, Przybylak gaining the narrow edge with a 48.35s time to take fifth place. Cammauf's time of 48.36s proved .05s ahead of the next competitor for sixth place. Eli Turner finished with a 49.92s time to take home a top-half finish.
  • A busy 800m for the Hawks saw Crimson populate the leaderboard, including taking the top three spots as Will Rau yielded the top time in the field with a time of 1:51.41. The freshmen duo of Chris Manzo and Tom Barausky earned times of 1:51.68 and 1:51.82 to round out the top three podium finishes. Dawson Baptiste crossed the line in ninth place with a time of 1:53.40, the first of four Hawks to finish over the next five runners. Immanuel Rota-Talarico took 10th place with a time of 1:53.50 before Regent Walden finished .06s behind his teammate with a 1:53.56 effort to place 11th. Anton Bovone produced a 13th-place time of 1:53.72. Matt Carnes (1:57.45) and Colin Donahoe (1:59.64) capped off the event for St. Joe's.
  • Cammauf returned to the track for the 200m, securing a time of 22.57s in the event.
  • Aidan Doherty edged out Haverford's Seamus Fraser in the 3000m steeplechase, besting his opponent by .03s to take second in the event with a time of 9:30.79.
  • The 4x400m relay team of Manzo, Przybylak, Walden and Hefferan capped off the event with a fifth-place finish after crossing the finish in 3:18.92.

The Hawks return to the track to take part in the Penn Relays, beginning on Thursday, April 24.
