Women’s Track and Field Competes at Penn Select

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team competed at the Penn Select meet on Saturday at the Ott Center.
 
TRACK EVENTS
  • The Hawks were well-represented in the women's 1000m, placing five athletes in the field. Chloe Care led the group with an eighth-place finish in 5:05.85, followed closely by Grace Rudder in ninth with a personal-best time of 5:07.08. Ali Fink made her collegiate debut in the event, finishing 10th in 5:08.90, while Sabrina Paz placed 13th at 5:09.78. Katrina Endres rounded out the Hawks with a personal-best performance of 5:17.00, finishing 16th overall.
  • In the 60m hurdles, Felicia Oh advanced to the finals after placing eighth in the prelims with a time of 9.215. She matched her eighth-place finish in the finals, setting a personal best of 9.14.
  • The Hawks had a strong showing in the 60m, led by Samantha Walz, who advanced from the prelims with an eighth-place time of 7.73 before finishing fifth overall in the finals at 7.67. Mariam Koita, Olivia Binns, and Tamasen Allen Bey each clocked 7.82 in the prelims to place 11th, 12th, and 13th, respectively. Cecilia Abruzzo finished 28th in 8.02, while Maya Adams placed 32nd with a time of 8.10.
  • In the 400m, Taylor Rosen and Olivia Beddow finished back-to-back in 19th and 20th with times of 59.19 and 59.20, respectively. Alessandra Schuster placed 26th in 1:01.23, followed by Crystal Benito in 28th at 1:01.91 and Stephanie Cristinzio in 29th with a time of 1:02.23.
  • The Hawks posted multiple top-five finishes in the 800m, led by Tess Crossan, who earned third overall with a time of 2:09.05, breaking her own school record set a year ago by a quarter of a second. Karin Dobiasch followed in fourth at 2:11.55, while Samantha Korck recorded a personal-best 2:12.77 to finish fifth. Quinn O'Brien placed eighth in 2:14.38, and Carolyn Smith added a personal-best performance of 2:21.21 to finish 14th.
  • In the 200m, Mariam Koita led the Hawks with a third-place finish in 25.10. Tamasen Allen Bey followed in sixth at 25.38, while Kendall Cooper placed seventh with a time of 25.41. Samantha Walz finished eighth in 25.57, Olivia Binns placed 13th in 25.85, and Cecilia Abruzzo (26.34) and Maya Adams (26.47) rounded out the event.
  • The Hawks competed in the 3000m, led by Jonalee Adames, who finished 15th with a time of 10:40.56. Abby Tuturice followed in 16th at 10:45.66, while Khya D'Angelo recorded a personal best of 10:47.22 to place 19th. Grace Fennell closed out the group in 25th with a time of 11:19.74.
  • The women's 4x400m relay capped the meet with a second-place finish, as Tess Crossan, Samantha Korck, Quinn O'Brien, and Karin Dobiasch clocked a time of 3:51.28. A second Hawks relay of Alessandra Schuster, Alyssa Bloxton, Stephanie Cristinzio, and Carolyn Smith finished ninth overall in 4:05.72.
FIELD EVENTS
  • Lily Ferguson represented the Hawks in the long jump, finishing 13th overall with a mark of 5.29 meters.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks return for their third consecutive meet at the Ott Center, taking part in the Quaker Invitational on Saturday, January 17.
