Hawks Open A-10 Outdoors with Multiple Qualifiers and Standout Performances

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team delivered a strong performance in the preliminary rounds at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, highlighted by multiple qualifiers and several personal-best efforts across a range of events.

TRACK EVENTS
  • The Hawks dominated the 800m prelims, led by Karin Dobiasch's first-place finish in 2:07.47 to secure the top qualifying spot. Tess Crossan also advanced, placing fifth with a time of 2:10.94. Samantha Korck narrowly missed the final, finishing 10th in 2:12.21, while Carolyn Smith placed 13th in 2:14.74.
  • Saint Joseph's saw strong results in the 100m prelims, with two athletes advancing to the final. Sammy Walz led the charge, placing third overall with a time of 11.80 to qualify. Mariam Koita joined her in the final after running a season-best 11.96 to finish seventh. Olivia Binns ran 12.10 to place 12th, while Tamasen Allen Bey finished 14th with a time of 12.15.
  • In the 1500m prelims with a pair of qualifiers. Ali Fink led the way with a personal-best 4:34.80 to place 11th overall and secure her spot in the final. Quinn O'Brien followed closely behind, finishing 14th in 4:36.32 to also advance. Chloe Care added a time of 4:38.27 for 18th place, while Abby Tuturice crossed in 4:54.94.
  • In the 400m prelims, Kendall Cooper paced the Hawks with a 13th-place finish in 57.21. Olivia Beddow recorded a personal-best 58.06 to place 18th, while Alessandra Schuster also notched a personal best with a time of 59.82. Cecilia Abruzzo rounded out the group, finishing in 1:01.36.
  • In the 400m hurdles, Taylor Rosen represented the Hawks with a time of 1:04.10 to finish 14th overall.
  • Walz returned to the track in the 200m prelims and continued her impressive day, placing second overall with a time of 24.26 to qualify for the final. Mariam Koita also advanced, finishing 10th in 24.94. Olivia Binns ran 24.71 to place eighth, while Tamasen Allen Bey finished ninth in 24.77 to round out a strong sprint group performance.
  • In the 10,000m final, Khya D'Angelo turned in a strong performance for the Hawks, placing 16th overall with a personal-best time of 38:24.39.
