DURHAM, N.C. - The Saint Joseph's women's track team completed a split-meet weekend, competing Friday evening at the Duke Invitational before dividing action on Saturday between Duke and the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell University.
FRIDAY TRACK RESULTS (Duke Invitational):
The Hawks opened Friday in the 100m prelims with a strong showing, led by
Sammy Walz, who placed 11th with a personal-best time of 11.78.
Tamasen Allen Bey followed closely in 17th at 11.87, while
Kendall Cooper recorded a personal-best 11.97.
Mariam Koita and
Olivia Binns rounded out the group, each crossing in 12.22.
SATURDAY TRACK RESULTS (Duke Invitational):
Saint Joseph's continued its momentum on Saturday, highlighted by two school records falling for the second consecutive week. Â
Karin Dobiasch placed fifth overall in the 800m with a school-record time of 2:05.31, nearly a second faster than her time from Princeton a week ago.
Samantha Korck also recorded a personal-best effort of 2:08.93, while
Quinn O'Brien notched a season-best time of 2:11.15.
Tess Crossan finished in 2:14.46, followed by
Majken Lutzen in 2:16.76 and
Carolyn Smith in 2:17.02.
The 4x100m relay team turned in a new record as well with a sixth-place finish in 45.99, three-hundredths of a second faster than last week's pace. Elsewhere in relay action, the 4x400m relay team posted a time of 4:00.98.
Walz turned in a personal-best performance of 24.33 in the 200m to earn a top-15 finish.
Olivia Binns followed in 24.66, while
Tamasen Allen Bey clocked 24.88.
Mariam Koita finished in 25.01, and
Kendall Cooper added a 25.49 effort.
In the 400m, Walz led the Hawks once again with a time of 56.25.
Kendall Cooper followed in 58.40, with
Olivia Beddow close behind in 58.47.
Crystal Benito crossed in 58.68, while
Alessandra Schuster rounded out the group with a time of 1:00.48.
SATURDAY FIELD RESULTS (Duke Invitational)
Lily Ferguson represented the Hawks in the field, recording a mark of 5.44 meters in the long jump.
SATURDAY TRACK RESULTS (Bison Outdoor Classic):
In the unseeded 10,000m, freshman
Khya D'Angelo led the Hawks with a fifth-place finish in 39:10.09, pacing the group in the longest event of the day.
The 5000m group saw
Abby Tuturice run to a top 10 finish, placing ninth in 17:54.19. She was followed by
Carlyn Segrave-Daly in 18:31.38 and sophomore
Katrina Endres in 18:48.43.
In the invitational 1500m,
Chloe Care finished in at 4:38.69, just ahead of
Ali Fink, who finished in at 4:38.97.
Payton Kochanski competed in the 3,000m steeplechase, clocking a time of 11:47.72.
The 5000m was led by junior
Grace Rudder with a time of 17:00.62.
Sabrina Paz followed in with a time of 17:26.72, just ahead of
Jonalee Adames at 17:27.59.
