Women’s Track and Field Competes at Penn Invite

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team competed at the Penn Invite meet on Friday at the Ott Center.
 
FIELD EVENTS:
  • In the long jump, Lily Ferguson represented the Hawks with a 13th-place finish, recording a mark of 5.14 meters.
TRACK EVENTS:
  • The mile run featured a tight grouping of Hawks. Jonalee Adames led the Hawks with a 14th-place finish in 5:16.37, followed closely by Abby Tuturice in 15th at 5:17.92 and Clare Kornacki in 16th with a time of 5:19.93. Payton Kochanski recorded a personal-best time of 5:20.49 to place 17th, while Grace Fennell finished 22nd in 5:28.80.
  • Felicia Oh competed in the 60m hurdles prelims, finishing 19th overall with a time of 9.47.
  • Tamasen Allen Bey led the way in the prelims of the 60m dash, with a second-place finish, recording a personal-best time of 7.65 that now ranks fourth on Saint Joseph's all-time Top 10 list. Mariam Koita followed in seventh at 7.81, while Cecilia Abruzzo finished 22nd in 8.16 and Johnna Gonter placed 28th in 8.30. In the finals, Allen Bey finished sixth with a time of 7.77, and Koita followed in eighth at 7.86.
  • In the 400m dash, Crystal Benito placed fifth overall with a personal-best time of 57.19, which now ranks sixth all-time in program history. Taylor Rosen finished 12th in 59.52, while Alessandra Schuster recorded a personal-best time of 59.70 to place 14th. Stephanie Cristinizio followed in 17th at 59.96, and Rylee Barnhart rounded out the event in 25th with a time of 1:05.63.
  • The 800m run was led by Carolyn Smith, who placed 10th with a time of 2:18.21, recording a three-second personal best. Alyssa Bloxton finished 12th in 2:19.93, followed by Sara Sherlock in 17th at 2:24.24.
  • In the 200m dash, Cecilia Abruzzo led the Hawks with a 17th-place finish and a time of 26.05. Stephanie Cristinizio followed in 25th at 26.49, while Alessandra Schuster placed 30th in 27.26 and Johnna Gonter finished 33rd in 28.32.
  • Saint Joseph's saw strong efforts in the 3000m, led by Katrina Endres, who placed sixth overall with a time of 10:22.76. Khya D'Angelo followed in eighth, recording a personal-best time of 10:34.99. Carlyn Segrave-Daly finished 11th in 10:44.50, while Noelia Reyes placed 13th with a time of 11:27.72.
  • The Hawks closed the meet in the 4x400m relay, as the quartet of Crystal Benito, Stephanie Cristinizio, Alessandra Schuster, and Rylee Barnhart finished seventh with a time of 4:03.13.

The Hawks will return to action at the ECAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, in Boston, Massachusetts.
