OPENING TIP
Wednesday's contest marks Saint Joseph's annual School Day, with more than 800 elementary and middle school students from the surrounding area expected to help pack Hagan Arena for the Atlantic 10 matchup.

The Hawks are coming off a hard-fought two-point loss to Dayton, falling just short despite a career-high 29-point performance from Gabby Casey. The junior went 12-for-20 from the field, eclipsing the 20-point mark for the third time in her last five games. Jill Jekot and Faith Stinson each chipped in 11 points in the setback.

Saint Joseph's is one of just four teams nationally with an assist rate above 70 percent, ranking tied for second in the country at 70.6 percent alongside Drake and Iowa. Northwestern leads the nation at 72.1 percent.

Over her last five outings, Casey has averaged 21.6 points per game, shooting 60.3 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc. She has also contributed 7.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, earning two Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors during that stretch.

Casey ranks among the conference leaders, sitting fourth in scoring (16.7 ppg), fifth in rebounding (7.0 rpg), sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.19) and ninth in assists (3.1 apg).

Saint Joseph's has been especially strong when playing from ahead, boasting an 11-0 record when leading at halftime and a 14-0 mark when holding a lead with five minutes remaining.

SHARING IS CARING
Through 23 games, the Hawks have assisted on 398 of their 564 made field goals, maintaining one of the nation's top assist rates at 70.6 percent. Only four teams nationwide sit above the 70 percent threshold.

Ball movement and decision-making have been hallmarks of the Saint Joseph's offense over the past three seasons. During that span, the Hawks have ranked in the national top 30 in assist-to-turnover ratio twice and have consistently remained among the Atlantic 10's leaders.

This season, Saint Joseph's ranks top 30 nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.22) and leads the Atlantic 10 in assists per game (17.3).

CASEY STEPPING UP
Gabby Casey has been a do-it-all presence for the Hawks in 2025-26, leading the team in points, rebounds and steals per game. She has scored in double figures in 20 of her 22 appearances, recorded at least five rebounds in 19 games, and tallied three or more steals eight times.

Casey has led Saint Joseph's in rebounding 13 times, scoring 12 times, steals 11 times and assists nine times. She also paces the team with five games featuring a team-best plus/minus.

Through 22 games, Casey is just seven assists shy of matching her career high set during the 2024-25 season, which came over 34 games. She has already surpassed her previous single-season bests in points, rebounds and steals.
