PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's track and field team closed out the indoor regular season at The Ott Center on Friday, taking part in the Philadelphia Metro hosted by Penn.
TRACK EVENTS
The Hawks delivered a strong showing in the mile, as five of the six competitors recorded personal bests.
Grace Rudder led the way with a sixth-place finish in 4:58.54.
Sabrina Paz followed in ninth at 5:06.98, while
Katrina Endres finished in 5:15.18,
Abby Tuturice in 5:16.17, and
Clare Kornacki in 5:18.87, each posting personal-record performances.
Payton Kochanski rounded out the group with a time of 5:32.13.
Felicia Oh competed in the 60m hurdles, placing eighth overall with a time of 9.39.
In the 60m dash,
Sammy Walz delivered one of the standout performances of the meet, finishing third with a personal-best time of 7.61s, the third-fastest mark in Saint Joseph's history.
Kendall Cooper followed in 7.81s, with
Maya Adams close behind at 7.89s.
Cecilia Abruzzo added a personal-best 7.94s, while
Johnna Gonter clocked an 8.19s.
Taylor Rosen earned a runner-up finish in the 500m dash, crossing the line in a personal-best 1:17.79.
Crystal Benito led the Hawks in the 400m with a second-place personal-best finish in 57.05.
Alessandra Schuster placed eighth with a personal-best time of 58.80, followed by
Stephanie Cristinzio in ninth, also recording a personal best at 59.10.
Rylee Barnhart rounded out the group with a time of 1:04.31.
Quinn O'Brien captured the 800m title, winning the event in 2:11.70.
Carolyn Smith placed fifth in 2:18.95, followed by
Sara Sherlock in seventh at 2:21.38 and
Alyssa Bloxton in 13th with a time of 2:27.46.
In the 1000m,
Ali Fink placed second in 2:55.85, with
Chloe Care taking third in 2:59.60.
The Hawks dominated the 200m dash, sweeping the top three spots.
Tamasen Allen Bey captured the title in 24.82, edging
Mariam Koita with 24.84 and
Olivia Binns with a time of 25.01.
Maya Adams added a fifth-place finish in 25.67,
Cecilia Abruzzo placed seventh with a time of 26.00, and
Johnna Gonter finished ninth at 27.29.
In the 3000m,
Jonalee Adames led the Hawks with a seventh-place finish in 10:34.14.
Carlyn Segrave-Daly followed with a time of 10:53.16,
Khya D'Angelo crossed in 10:59.99, and
Noelia Reyes finished in 11:25.15 to round out the distance squad.
Saint Joseph's closed the meet in dominant fashion in the 4x400m relay. The squad of
Tess Crossan,
Samantha Korck,
Majken Lutzen, and
Karin Dobiasch captured first place with a school-record time of 3:45.93. The team of
Sammy Walz,
Kendall Cooper,
Alessandra Schuster, and
Rylee Barnhart followed with a fourth-place finish in 3:59.82.
FIELD EVENTS
Lily Ferguson led the Hawks in the long jump, placing fourth overall with a mark of 5.42 meters.
UP NEXT
St. Joe's heads to Virginia Beach, Virginia, next weekend for the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. The two-day meet begins on Friday, February 27.
