WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Joseph's junior
Gabby Casey has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading the Hawks to a pair of conference victories.
Casey averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 56.5 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from three, and 100 percent from the free-throw line across the two wins.
The Quakertown, Pa. native opened the week with a standout performance in a victory over Duquesne, recording 19 points and nine rebounds while connecting on 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Casey followed that effort with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals in a road win at Saint Louis.
Casey is averaging 16.7 points per game in Atlantic 10 play, shooting 51.1 percent from the field against conference opponents while connecting at a 41.6 percent clip from three-point range.
The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 25, traveling to face George Mason at 7 p.m.
