WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's junior righthander
Luke Parise was named the Atlantic 10 Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced on Monday evening.

Parise tossed six shutout innings on Saturday, allowing just three hits and striking out two, as the Hawks rolled past George Mason, 15-6, in the second game of a doubleheader sweep at Smithson Field.

A native of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Parise leads the Hawk rotation with a 3.94 earned run average and a 5-1 record. He has struck out 40 batters against just 16 walks and is holding opponents to a .228 batting average in 10 appearances.

Parise and the Hawks will take on Penn in the Liberty Bell Classic championship game at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday afternoon before hosting Delaware on Wednesday.
