• Saint Joseph's (1-0) opened its season in style with a 9-1 rout of Hofstra on Sunday afternoon.  Sophomore Tonya Botherway tallied the first two goals of the game in the first quarter as the Hawks took a 4-0 lead after the opening stanza.  The lead would stretch to 5-0 before a Pride penalty stroke made it a 5-1 game at halftime, but Botherway converted a stroke of her own early in the third and the Hawks would roll from there.

• The Hawks turned 11 penalty corners into four goals, while not conceding a defensive corner.  SJU outshot Hofstra, 30-1, and did not allow a shot from open play.

• For her efforts, Botherway was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week.  Senior Kathrin Bentz added a goal and an assist en route to the inaugural Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week award.  Senior Pepa Serrano also had a big day, tallying a goal and two assists, while freshmen Leigh James and Kacie Patton scored their first collegiate goals.

• Drexel (0-2) started the campaign with a pair of road games, falling 4-2 at Ohio on Friday before dropping a 4-3 double-overtime result at Indiana on Sunday.

• Sophomore Avery Powell scored a goal in each game and leads the Dragons with four points.  Classmate Puk Thewessen had a three-point afternoon on Sunday with a goal and an assist, while senior Tess Bernheimer added a pair of assists on Friday.
