HAWKS PLACE 2ND AT FORDHAM

BRONX, NY- The Saint Joseph's University men's track team competed at the Fordham/St. John's Invitational on Saturday, January 18 placing second in a field of 13 teams. The Hawks bested hosts Fordham and St. John's while beating neighboring rival Temple. The only loss came against Rutgers. The Hawks were led by winners Andy Craycraft, who ran the 400-meter dash with an ICAAAA qualifying time of 49.07, and senior Brian Rosetti who ran the 1000-meter in a time of 2:28.09. Rosetti's time was also good for ICAAAA's. Rosetti teamed up with fellow seniors Jim Smith and Jeff Storch and freshman newcomer Rich Anderson to place first in the 4x800 with an ICAAAA qualifying time of (7:43.87). Other performers included Mike McCabe's second place finish in the 500-meter (1:05.04), qualifying him for ICAAAA's and freshman Brad Schmidt, who also qualified for ICAAAA's in the 1000-meter with a time of 2:29.03. Senior Ben Koch finished third in the mile with a time of 4:19.04. The Hawks will travel to Boston on January 26 to compete in the Boston University Invitational
