PHILADELPHIA (01/13/03) - Sophomore Doug Rick and freshman Andrew Thomas were honored today by the Atlantic 10 as the weekly honorees. Rick was named the Performer of the Week and Thomas earned Rookie of the Week. Rick won gold in the 400m at Friday's Fordham Invitational and qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championships with a time of 48.79, the best in the A-10 this season. He also anchored the school-record setting 4x400 relay team that also met IC4A standards. Rick was also the ECAC Performer of the Week. Thomas placed second in the 500m with a time of 1:03.93, also tops in the A-10 this season. The dash also qualified him for the IC4As. The Yardley, Pa. native also ran the second leg of the 4x400 relay. The honors were the second straight week that the Hawks swept the weekly conference awards as Matt Lewis and Matt Petrocci were nabbed last week.
