CRAYCRAFT LEADS HAWKS AT ICAAAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

BOSTON, MA- Andy Craycraft led several Saint Joseph's men's track runners at the ICAAAA Championships this past weekend. Craycraft won the 500 meter dash with a career-best time of 1:02.33. Craycraft, who continues to impress on-lookers during his collegiate career, bested last year's IC4A time (1:03.96). Senior Brian Rosetti fared well for the Hawks, placing ninth in the 1000 meter run (2:34.50). Freshman Eric Chekemian, Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Year, finished eighth (1:05.37) in the 500 meter run for the Hawks. The Hawks 4x800 team of Jerry Puryear, Bradley Schmidt, Craycraft and Jim Smith finished third with a time of 7:31.90, while the 4x400 relay team comprised of Marc Maccario, Mike McCabe, Kile Garguilo and Chekemian finished in a time of 3:16.62, good for seventh. SJU finished tied for 14th out of 57 teams. The Hawks return to the track on March 24 when they kick off their outdoor season at the Penn Invitational.
