FAIRFAX, VA (05/31/03) -- The 4x400 relay of junior Nick Carras, freshman Andrew Thomas, junior Jerry Puryear and sophomore Doug Rick broke the school record for the third time this season by finishing sixth at the NCAA East Regionals at George Mason University this weekend. The quartet ran the relay in 3:09.07, breaking the mark of 3:09.46 set at the Penn Relays in April. However, the team will not be advancing to the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Only the top three relays advance. Junior Jerry Puryear continued his fine season in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.68, good for sixth place. Only the top five advance to Sacramento. On Friday, senior Brian Rosetti concluded his collegiate career with a 37th place finish in the 1500m (4:01.10).
