Susan Moran has been tabbed the 2002 Philadelphia Big Five Women's Basketball Player of the Year, in a poll conducted by the Conference coaches. Moran was also named to the All-Big Five First Team, while sophomore
Stephanie Graff was named to the All-Big Five Second Team. Senior
Amy Snell was named to the All-Big Five academic team.
A native of Tullamore, Ireland, Moran the 6-1 forward led both the Atlantic 10 Conference and Big Five with 23.3 points per game average, while averaging 8.6 rebounds.
With 2,340 career points, Moran is SJU's career scoring leader, surpassing former Hawk standout Dale Hodges (1988-90) and her 2,077 career points. The third all-time leading scorer in Philadelphia women's basketball history, the honorable mention All-American (Ap/WBCA) had five 30-point outbursts this season. A four-time all-Big Five pick, she is the only Hawk to lead her team in scoring and rebounding all four years.
Graff, meanwhile ranked second on the team by averaging 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She also set a Hawks single season record by shooting a 62.2% from the floor. In addition, her 37 blocks were the third most in SJU single season history and her five rejections in a game tied the school single game mark.
Snell, an elementary education/special education major, has a 3.72 GPA. She posted career highs across the board by averaging 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds.
